Privacy Policy
We prefer to collect as little information as possible from you. However, collecting information is sometimes necessary. We will always treat your data carefully and will do everything in our power to safeguard your privacy.
We guarantee the following regarding your privacy:
- We will never share your personal data with other parties without a valid reason.
- We will protect your personal data as if it were our own.
- We will only use your personal data for the purposes defined below.

- Any feedback you might give about the team activities using the tools within TeamSHIFT that are supplied for this

Your IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system and version.
Data on how you use TeamSHIFT
Examples of this are: your clicks on the site (the path you take through our site), page response times, TeamSHIFT errors, how long you stay on our pages, what you do on those pages and how often.
How we process your data
Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of:
- Having TeamSHIFT identify you personally and communicate to you in a personalized manner.
- Giving you access to your personal account.
- Allowing your colleagues and teammates to find you in TeamSHIFT, identify you in your shared teams and collaborate with each other within TeamSHIFT.
The personality type assessment answers and results, and the feedback on the team activities are collected for the purpose of:
- Personalization and giving meaning to your TeamSHIFT experience, both the individual aspects and the collaborative work with your teammates.
- Giving insights to your organization’s L&D manager about the progress and results of the TeamSHIFT experience for you and your team.
- Allowing CrossKnowledge to improve TeamSHIFT.
A copy of a subset of your data (first name, last name and email address) is also stored on the CrossKnowledge Learning Suite, to give you access to specific parts of the TeamSHIFT experience.
How we protect your data
We protect your personal data against unauthorized access, unlawful use, accidental loss, corruption or destruction.
We use technical measures such as encryption and password protection to protect your data and the systems it is held in. We also use operational measures to protect your data.
Who has access to your personal data
Apart from you, CrossKnowledge has access to your data and your organization has limited access to your data.
Within your organization:
- Your personal data is available to all of your teammates. You can leave a team in TeamSHIFT and you can accept or reject invites to new teams before you join them.
- Your personal data is available to specially selected ‘Administrators’. These are typically people who are responsible for the TeamSHIFT project within your organization and are often members of the L&D or HR team. These are also the people that process data-related requests, together with the Data Protection Officer of your organization.
How long and where do we store your data
The personal data we collect is processed at CrossKnowledge facilities and in data processing facilities operated by the third parties identified below.
We don’t store your data on our servers longer than is necessary:
- If your account is part of a free demonstration or a free pilot project, CrossKnowledge anonymizes your account by default 6 months after your account is registered.
- If your account is part of a contractual agreement between your organization and CrossKnowledge, your account is either anonymized or deleted from all records within six months after the contract ends.
- Anonymization means, in short, that it’s made impossible to trace an account's data back to the original user of the account.
- CrossKnowledge uses the anonymized data for analysis to improve TeamSHIFT.

Third parties who process your data
- Amazon Web Services Inc. This is a hosting provider. We use it to store and back up data you generate by using the service securely in the cloud. Hosting center located in Germany.
- Google Analytics: This is a web analytics service. We use it to track your use of the service, and prepare reports on user activity.
Sending data outside of the European Economic Area
CrossKnowledge may transfer your personal information outside of your country of residence for the following reasons:
- In order to process your transactions, we may store your personal information on our servers and those servers may reside outside the country where you live. CrossKnowledge has servers and/or major office locations in several countries, including but not limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, France, Switzerland, Japan.
- In order to satisfy global reporting requirements, CrossKnowledge may be required to provide your personal information to CrossKnowledge affiliates in other countries.
By using TeamSHIFT, you agree to this transfer, storing, or processing of your information. We will take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and all applicable data protection laws.
Your rights
You are the owner of your personal data. Depending on the origin of your TeamSHIFT account however, your data could be controlled by another entity:
- If your organization is a contractual client of TeamSHIFT, your organization is the controller of your personal data in TeamSHIFT.
- If your TeamSHIFT account is managed by CrossKnowledge (you can verify this on your My Settings page), CrossKnowledge is the controller of your personal data in TeamSHIFT.
You have the right to access and to export all your personal data. You also have the right to request that your personal data be corrected, that processing be stopped, or that your data be deleted.
To raise objections or exercise your rights, you can connect with your organization. On your My Settings page in TeamSHIFT, you can see which organization manages your profile and find the Data Protection Officer’s email address within that organization.

Please note that this Privacy Policy is reviewed periodically. CrossKnowledge reserves the right to modify its Privacy Policy at any time without notice. To enrich our applications and content, sometimes we may embed video content from other social media websites such as YouTube, Facebook and other providers.
